General
What is Calinear?
Calinear is a directory of local businesses and services in California. You can browse by city, neighborhood and type of service, or search by name, category and location.
Is Calinear free to use?
Yes. Searching listings and reading reviews is free. Business owners can add or update a basic listing for free; paid plans add extra visibility that is labeled Sponsored.
Where does listing information come from?
From public sources, business owners and corrections sent by visitors. Not every listing has been re-checked yet, so confirm details with the business before you rely on them. Our methodology has the details.
How are search results ordered?
By how well a listing matches your search and, when you search near a place, by distance. Premium listings, which businesses pay for, can appear higher and are labeled Premium or Sponsored.
A listing is wrong, or I want it removed. What do I do?
Use Report incorrect info / request removal and include the listing link. We aim to respond within 7 days.
Business owners
How do I list my business?
Create an account, then choose "List your business". Add your business details and location. You can update the listing later from your dashboard.
What does a paid plan include?
See Pricing for the current plans. Paid placement is labeled, and paying never changes your reviews, rating or listing facts. There is no paid "verified" badge.
How do I change or cancel a paid plan?
Contact us and we will change or cancel your subscription.
Reviews
How do reviews work?
Registered users can review a business once. A review has a 1 to 5 star rating and optional text. Business owners can reply publicly from their dashboard.
Can a business remove a negative review?
No. We do not remove reviews because they are negative. We remove reviews that break our editorial and review policy, for example fake, paid or abusive reviews. Anyone can report a review.
Account
How do I verify my email?
After you register, open the verification email and follow the link. If it did not arrive, go to your Profile page and choose "Resend Verification".
Can I sign in with Google?
Yes. Choose "Continue with Google" on the login page.
